Site Preparation & Grading
Site Preparation and Grading in Coeur d’Alene
Site prep is the work that turns a raw parcel into ground you can build on. Rogeruethsgarden strips and stockpiles the topsoil, moves the cut and fill to balance the site, and shapes the subgrade to the elevations on your engineered plan. The result is a level, compacted pad with drainage slopes running the right direction, whether the project is a single house lot near Government Way or a commercial pad out toward Hayden.
Why Grading Done Right Matters
- Drainage first. A finish grade that slopes water away from the structure keeps a foundation dry through a wet Panhandle spring instead of routing runoff into it.
- No settling later. Fill placed in controlled lifts and compacted to 95 percent of maximum dry density gives a slab or driveway a base that will not sink two years on.
- A pad that matches the plan. GPS grade control lets our operators hold the design elevations across the whole site, not just guess at them.
Our Process
We file the 811 locate, strip the topsoil to stockpile, then rough grade the site to within a few inches of target. Once the subgrade is compacted and tested, we make the finish pass, setting the final slopes for drainage and leaving a clean surface ready for concrete, gravel, or sod. Every cut and fill quantity is itemized before we start.
